Good experience. Would go there again. Friendly staff and good service. I had the chicken fried steak, vegetable soup with lots of veggies and good flavor. I had shop much good i turned down n the dinner salad. The country gravy had a pretty good flavor. I would eat it again, but would not rate it top notch. Overall, a good experience.

Great service! from front of the house, to the back of the house . Food is amazing tuna melt with avocado and tomato sourdough bread is a must-try!!

I would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. They don't deserve even one star. We all go to Toni's now because we don't want to get sick from eating the food served by people who don't care about quality and don't care about their customers.

Welcome to the Village Pantry Arcata. This quaint little restaurant has been locally owned and operated by the Thompson family for over 3 decades. Many of the members of the Thompson clan presently work at the 2 stores (the other is located at 1912 Broadway in Eureka CA) including yours truely.I could rant on about how great our family business is, but instead I invite you and yours to come on down and enjoy our breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert menu. We also have home made pies available, and the coffee's always on. Thank you for your patronage.

A reliably flavorful and filling traditional diner that has been here since my childhood. Prices that dont change everytime you turn around, and mostly homemade food. The only foods they dont make from scratch, it is because they havent figured out how to do it better, yet. And service is always with a smile. I am never disappointed with a visit to this restaurant.

My family and I stayed in town to visit the Redwoods and after a day of hiking and staring upwards we stumbled into the family pantry looking for something cozy and delicious. Village pantry was both. Not only was the food out quick and hot, but the selection of pies in the display window had us drooling. The service was fantastic and we liked it so much we came back again for our final dinner in Arcata. We were served by the owner’s son and he treated us like regulars. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Thanks for making it great guys. For those considering stopping here, do yourself a favor and try their berry pie with cake batter and a side of ice cream. Even in the majesty of some of the world’s largest trees, all I could think about was that pie.

It was a OK restaurant. The service was Good, they went out of there way to make what I wanted. But in the end the flavor fell flat. Denny's would have been better. But have to give Kudos for the Customer Service.

The food is pretty decent, not spectacular but definitely better than Denny's. Good service, with a pretty friendly and courteous staff. Reasonably priced. The neighborhood they're in is awful, but it's a decent place

Steak wasnt cooked to what I ordered. Medium rare. Although I know a steak can be hard to cook it shouldn't be hard for an established family restaurant. I will be back for another though. See if they can nail the medium rare I'm looking for.

This breakfast consisted of an over easy egg to biscuits gravy grilled onions and potatoes with bacon on top. I think it was called the country breakfast but it was the best I've ever had hands down.

The staff was friendly. I usually come here for a good old American breakfast. The choices are are many. They are also accommodating to making small substitutions French toast for regular toast and similar requests with a positive attitude. I like the staff altitudes better in Arcata vs Eureka. The interior was a little dated but very acceptable. I definitely come back.

Great prime rib! The staff is very attentive and the food matched. Delicious! The menu is extensive so I had a lot to choose from, I settled on the prime rib sandwich and potato salad. Cooked perfectly, tender and very flavorful and the horseradish is kickin 😁

Consistently good food, excellent service. I along with friends eat there every Sunday. Prices are right for those on a limited income. Warm and welcoming staff.

We stopped in for pie and ice cream. Party of 5 who couldnt decide on which kind of pie. We settled on banana cream pie and a hot cinnamon roll. Out of this world. The coffee was fresh and hot. Our server, Mia, was awesome. She was very attentive and helped us decide on what to order.

The food is great, but to me, it's the atmosphere of the restaurant and the excellent service, that makes this our #1 go to place. It's the total package that keeps us going back often. We absolutly LOVE it here.

You walk in to outdated decor but quickly find a gem! The wait staff is excellent. Friendly and very attentive. Knowledgeable about the menu and can tell you exactly what to order based on a few questions. Large portions for the food. She suggested the California Eggs Benedict with home fries. Boyfriend got the Ham and Cheese Omelette with sourdough toast. Both were really good. Super tasty! $12.99 for each. Note: we came on a Sunday morning. Super busy .. but we didn’t wait long for a seat. We waited about 20 min for food but the waitress was attentive the entire time. Great experience with friendly staff and excellent food. Will eat here again if I’m in the area. Total bill $35 for 2 breakfast, side of toast and 2 coffees.

Their food is always good and you don't have to wait along time.

This place had great tasting food at a good price and friendly service. I left my glasses on the table and the waiter literally srpinted out of the restaurant to give them to me before we left. I was on vacation and live in Wet Virginia so I really appreciated his doing that.

The Pantry is a great location to bring your friends and family to. The servers are always very polite and make you feel welcoming, the food is of good quality, and it comes to you at a pretty reasonable speed. All in all, I would highly recommend this resturant and you will not regret going.

This establishment is by far our favorite place to eat when we go out to eureka. The staff is amazing and the food is always consistently good!

Overpriced and too traditional for my tastes. Try the Big Blue on the plaza, or Toni's 24-hour cafe.

Husband and daughter both hated the food here. They didn’t like packaged white gravy it was bland, ketchup was good but frozen prepared chicken fried steak was not edible. Hash browns were bottom of the barrel but eggs and bacon were fine. OJ was good and service decent but she didn’t take note of their body language nor the fact they pushed their food away. Seemed like she was more interested in the customer who was out drinking with her the night before. I didn’t eat here, these were their comments and they were unhappy having paid $33 plus tip for a breakfast they hated. Oh well, good thing they’ll eat twice more today 🤣 the homemade pies looked great!

My brother, sister, mom, and I went for dinner and had terrible service below average food. Our green beans came out of can and eggs cooked to a rubbery consistency. They were supposed to give us our check and we had to get. People who came in after us were served first. I would not not ever go back their are so many other options.
